Many of the online auction sniper companies have
quickly discovered that they can make a lot of money charging
customers a percentage of the final auction price and adding additional
hidden fees. They seem like a good deal at first, but one quickly
discovers that with many of these services this initial ploy turns
out to good to be true and covered in hidden fees.
Points
I have only tried one service that uses the "Points"
System, you bought points equal to the dollar amount of the auction
price. This system turned out to be the absolute worst and these
guys charged my credit card multiple times every month. Every
time I complained I had to wait a week for a response and they
said they couldn't do anything about it because it was the credit
card companies fault.
Subscriptions
The larger, more reliable software companies
who offer auction sniper services charge subscription fees. You
can tell who the larger companies are because as one of their
options they allow you to pay by credit card and there is instant
activation.
